As part this mission, our grassroots environmental movement“Misis Walastik” helps keep plastic waste out of landfills and waterways while also delivering positive impact on the lives & livelihoods of Filipinos.
In partnership with various local government units, informal waste sector, and waste processors, we scaled up our Misis Walastik program to continue encouraging more households to practice proper waste management in three easy steps—Kolek, Kilo, and Kita.
Kolek, Kilo, and Kita
In the Kolek (“collect”), Kilo (“weigh”), and Kita (“pay/earn”) system, households from participating barangays set aside their flexible plastic waste, drop it to their nearest partner junkshop tagged as Walastik Collection Hubs, then collect their cash incentives for every kilo of accepted waste. Our partner waste processors ensure that these are taken to the proper facilities to convert into useful material, including refused derived fuel to power their facilities.

Zero Waste Philippines
We’re working to reduce plastic pollution through goals focused on an absolute reduction, using more recycled and less virgin plastic, improving the recyclability of our plastic and collecting more plastic than we sell.
To date, our Misis Walastik program has engaged over 100,000 households in over 400 barangays across the country.
Together, let us march towards a zero waste Philippines! Head on to your nearest Walastik Collection Hub and share your #WaisWalastik experience on social media.
